I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. This is the perfect book for such curious munchkins and, if you don't watch out, you might learn a thing or two yourself. If it drives you crazy to read the same book over and over again, don't buy this one. It is almost an addiction for my four-year-old son who loves to find out how things work.
Really a shame, and a shabby way to treat a wonderful children's classic. Why would you abridge Richard Scarry. I was shocked to find this book much thinner than the version I remember from childhood, and the writing has been "updated" as well.
Unfortunately the unabridged version is out of print and used copies are rare and extremely expensive, so it's likely the best you're going to do within a reasonable budget. This is an abridged edition, and while still charming and beautifully illustrated, it's not the complete experience.
Not at all acceptable. I have the original print of this awesome book. This print is missing about 30 pages from the original.
It was one of their favorites. This is a great book to read to your kids. I purchased it as a gift for a young child.But I also had this book when my kids were young.
